About Trewan Hall
Trewan Hall is a family-run dog-friendly campsite in the Cornish countryside, set within 36 acres of woodland, gardens and open grounds surrounding a historic manor house. Just outside St Columb Major, it sits between Newquay and Padstow, making it a handy base for discovering North Cornwall’s beaches, coastal paths and seaside towns with your dog.
The campsite welcomes tents, caravans and motorhomes across two spacious camping fields. Barn Park is the non-electric field, while Calves Close has electric hook-ups. Pitches are not pre-allocated, so you can choose a spot on arrival, whether you prefer to be close to the facilities or tucked away in a quieter corner.
Dogs are welcome, and one of Trewan Hall’s best features for pet owners is its dedicated woodland dog-walking area, where dogs can exercise off lead. Dogs must otherwise be kept on a lead around the site and cannot be left unattended. They are not permitted in the swimming pool area, shop, toilets, showers, laundry or entertainment barn, so it’s worth planning ahead if you’re travelling with your dog.
There’s plenty to keep the rest of the family occupied, too. The site has a heated 25-metre swimming pool during the main season, modern toilet and shower facilities, a camp shop, laundry, children’s woodland adventure playground, games areas, table tennis and a library with books, toys and board games. During high season, the programme can include live music, family entertainment, summer fetes and food evenings with visiting food vans.
If you’d prefer a little more comfort than a camping pitch, Trewan Hall also has two renovated self-catering cottages, The Stables and The Coach House. Both have two bedrooms, sleep up to four guests plus a cot, and welcome dogs. Each has its own enclosed garden, while guests can also enjoy the estate’s woodland walks and seasonal facilities. The cottages are booked separately through Classic Cottages, so check their individual terms when arranging your stay.
With St Columb Major nearby and Newquay and Padstow around 15 minutes away by car, Trewan Hall offers a relaxed base for a dog-friendly camping or cottage holiday, with countryside walks on site and plenty of coast to explore.
