Willowbank Lodges is a peaceful collection of five dog-friendly log cabins in the Vale of Pewsey, surrounded by Wiltshire countryside, water and wildlife. Set within 3.5 acres at Milkhouse Water, it’s a lovely choice for a quiet break with your dog, with walks beginning virtually from the doorstep.
There are one and two-bedroom lodges to choose from, sleeping between two and four guests. River Birch and Heron’s Nest each have one bedroom and sleep two, making them ideal for couples, while Bullrush, Dragonfly and Kingfisher have two bedrooms and sleep up to four. The bedrooms can be arranged with super king or twin beds, giving you some flexibility when travelling with family or friends.
All five lodges are dog friendly, and up to two well-behaved dogs can stay free of charge. Each cabin has a large covered and enclosed veranda, which is particularly useful when you’re travelling with a dog and want somewhere to sit outside together. Dog treats and a blanket are also waiting in the lodge when you arrive.
The location is one of Willowbank’s biggest attractions. The Kennet & Avon Canal is just a few minutes’ walk away, with the towpath providing an easy route for longer walks through the countryside. Jones’s Mill nature reserve is also nearby, while Martinsell Hill offers panoramic views across the Vale of Pewsey. Dogs can also be exercised off lead at the top of Willowbank’s 3.5-acre site, although this area isn’t fenced.
Inside, the lodges are spacious and well equipped for self-catering stays, with kitchens, comfortable living areas, Smart TVs and Wi-Fi. Outside, you’ll have views across the site’s lakes, streams and surrounding countryside. There’s free parking and an EV charging point too.
Pewsey and Marlborough are within easy reach for shops, cafés and dog-friendly places to eat, while Avebury, Savernake Forest and the wider Wiltshire countryside offer plenty more possibilities for days out.
For anyone looking for dog-friendly lodges in Wiltshire, Willowbank combines a peaceful lakeside setting with genuinely useful touches for dogs, plenty of walking nearby and no additional charge for your first two four-legged guests.
