Once a village pub, The White Hart has been thoughtfully transformed into a spacious Cotswold retreat where large groups can spend proper time together — dogs included.

Set in the village of Leonard Stanley, this characterful three-storey house sleeps up to 21 guests across nine bedrooms, making it particularly well suited to family gatherings, milestone birthdays, reunions and weekends away with friends.

There’s plenty of space to come together, but just as importantly, plenty of room to escape for a little peace and quiet. The original pub bar has been kept and is now a wonderfully relaxed space for drinks, games and late-night conversations, while the main sitting room has a fireplace that makes a cosy spot to settle down after a day exploring the Cotswolds.

Outside, the private enclosed garden looks towards rolling Cotswold fields and has everything you need for a leisurely afternoon or evening, including an outdoor hot tub and summerhouse. There’s even a BBQ for those warmer evenings when nobody wants to go back inside.

For dog owners, The White Hart ticks some important boxes. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, the garden is enclosed and walking routes begin right from the village, including access towards the Cotswold Way. Early morning and evening walks are easy without having to get in the car.

Inside, the house has a well-equipped kitchen, generous dining areas, high-speed Wi-Fi and eight bathrooms spread across the three floors. There’s also a ground-floor bedroom with a more accessible en-suite, including a shower chair.

When you’re ready to explore, Stroud, Painswick and Nailsworth are all within easy reach, while the surrounding Cotswold countryside offers plenty of opportunities for walking, local food and slow days out.

The White Hart has the space and facilities you’d expect from a large-group house, but retains the warmth and character of its former life as a village pub. It’s an easygoing place to celebrate, reconnect and enjoy a Cotswold escape together.
