Beach Pads

Beach Pads is about as close to the sand as you can get. Set directly on Porthkidney Beach in Lelant, near St Ives, these three dog-friendly beach houses are a great choice if long beach walks and days spent by the sea are high on your Cornwall wish list.

The three neighbouring properties can be booked individually or together, making Beach Pads suitable for couples, families and larger groups. Each has its own character and facilities, while the setting is shared by all three: a peaceful spot overlooking St Ives Bay, with the beach just outside.

For dog owners, the location is the real highlight. Porthkidney is dog friendly throughout the year, so there are no seasonal restrictions to work around when you fancy an early morning run on the sand or an evening walk by the sea. The South West Coast Path and St Michael’s Way also pass close by, giving you plenty of options for longer walks.

Dogs are welcome at Beach Pads, usually with a maximum of two dogs per property depending on their size and the number of guests staying. Outside taps are available for washing off sandy or muddy paws, and stair gates can be provided to help keep dogs in the appropriate areas of the house.

There’s plenty here for humans too. Depending on which house you choose, facilities include hot tubs, a private heated swimming pool, gardens and outdoor entertaining areas. The beachfront setting is ideal for kayaking, paddleboarding and fishing, while wildlife lovers may spot seals and a wide variety of birdlife around the neighbouring RSPB reserve.

Lelant itself has dog-friendly pubs and places to eat, and St Ives and Carbis Bay are within easy reach. At low tide, you can even walk along the beach towards Carbis Bay, making it easy to leave the car behind for part of your stay.

Beach Houses

There are three beachfront houses, which can be booked individually or combined. Beach Pads advertises the collection as sleeping 1 to 22 guests.

Ferry House: 3 bedrooms plus a snug with small double sofa bed. It has a super king bedroom, king bedroom and triple bunk room, plus a private heated swimming pool, hot tub, large garden, covered outdoor entertaining area and fire pit.

Ferryman’s Rest: 4 bedrooms, comprising two king bedrooms, a triple bunk room and a twin/double eaves bedroom. It also has a hot tub and large patio.

Beach House: 2 bedrooms plus a downstairs sofa bed.
