Dog-friendly shepherd’s huts in Wiltshire

A shepherd’s hut is a cosy, simple stay for two and a dog, and Wiltshire’s wide skies and quiet countryside suit them perfectly.

At Cocklebury Farm, a family-run farm near Pewsey, two stargazing shepherd’s huts each have their own garden and fire pit, with the Kennet & Avon Canal towpath right by the farm. At Durrington, The Stonehenge Inn has shepherd’s huts in its courtyard, a replica stone circle on the lawn and the real Stonehenge just over two miles away. Dogs are welcome for £20 a stay.

The canal towpath is flat and easy, and the chalk downs and ancient sites around Avebury and Stonehenge make for big, open walks.
