Dog-Friendly Hotels in the Cotswolds

Choosing a dog-friendly hotel in the Cotswolds
With no coast, a dog-friendly Cotswold break is all about walking: honey-stone villages, wide views from the wolds, and a pub at the end of the day. The hotels match that, with old manor houses with big gardens and coaching inns in the market towns, many of them very used to muddy dogs.
In the north Cotswolds, around the Slaughters, Stow and Bourton, Lords of the Manor at Upper Slaughter has eight acres of grounds and the walk to Lower Slaughter on its doorstep. On the Oxfordshire side, Woodstock and Charlbury are good bases, with The Bear in Woodstock putting you close to Blenheim and plenty of countryside walks.
The Cotswold Way runs for just over 100 miles along the western edge, from Chipping Campden to Bath. Short stretches of it make excellent half-day walks from almost anywhere in the area.
