About Cocklebury Farm
The family has been restoring Cocklebury since 2001, turning a neglected corner of Wiltshire into a working farm with nature at its heart. It borders the Kennet & Avon Canal at Ladies Bridge, a Grade II-listed stone bridge, and the skies are dark enough that guests often spot their first shooting star or the Milky Way here.
There are five places to stay, each sleeping two. Owl Roost and Deer Barn are stable conversions with a king-size bed, an open-plan kitchen and living space, and a south-facing deck and garden. Wild Bee is a detached studio adapted for wheelchair users, with ramp access and either a super-king or twin beds. The two shepherd’s huts, oak-clad Hare Hideaway and tin-clad Fox Den, each have a stargazing skylight and their own en-suite.
Every stay starts with a welcome hamper. There’s Starlink Wi-Fi, smart TVs and heating throughout, and a BBQ fire pit in every garden.
Dogs are welcome in all five, for a one-off charge per stay that covers the extra cleaning and includes a pet pack. Just let the farm know when you book. The private gardens give dogs room to potter, the canal towpath is right on the farm’s doorstep, and there are plenty of dog-friendly places to eat nearby.
Groups can book the lot, for up to ten guests, and if you’re coming without a car, the Wiltshire Connect bus stops at the top of the drive.
