Description

Hidden away in a leafy valley near the banks of the River Dart, Dittisham Hideaway is somewhere you can properly switch off. This award-winning South Devon glamping retreat combines woodland surroundings with a little luxury – and dogs are very much part of the experience.

There are ten individually styled places to stay, including four cedar-clad treehouses, five shepherd lodges and a beautifully restored 1950s American Airstream. Eight welcome dogs, so there’s plenty of choice if you’re planning a Devon escape with your four-legged companion.

Every hideaway has its own private deck or patio and a wood-fired hot tub, perfect for sinking into after a long walk. Inside, you’ll find thoughtful home comforts and cosy spaces designed for year-round stays, whether you’re escaping as a couple or bringing the family along.

Dogs get a warm welcome too. Up to two well-behaved dogs can stay in the dog-friendly accommodation and, even better, there’s currently no additional charge for bringing them. They’ll arrive to their own welcome pack with a bed, bowls, treats, a toy, towel, blanket and poo bags – a thoughtful touch that means there’s a little less to squeeze into the car.

Three of the dog-friendly treehouses have enclosed decks, while the shepherd lodges and Airstream have ground anchors for attaching a lead. Owl and Pheasant treehouses even have their own outdoor dog washes for muddy paws after a day of exploring.

The setting is made for getting outdoors. Dittisham village and the River Dart are close by, while Dartmouth is around a ten-minute drive away. Head further afield and you’ve got the South Devon coast, South Hams countryside and Dartmoor all within reach.

Whether you’re planning woodland walks, lazy afternoons in the hot tub or days exploring Devon with your dog by your side, Dittisham Hideaway is the sort of place that makes it very easy to stay a little longer.
