SeaSpace is a little different from your usual Cornish hotel. Set in Porth, just outside Newquay, it combines the style and atmosphere of a contemporary coastal hotel with the freedom of having your own studio or apartment, complete with a fully equipped kitchen and space to settle into at your own pace.

It’s a particularly good fit for a dog-friendly Cornwall break. Well-behaved, house-trained dogs are welcome in specified accommodation, with up to two dogs allowed per apartment. There’s plenty of outdoor space around SeaSpace, while the South West Coast Path runs directly opposite, giving you an easy starting point for a morning walk or a longer adventure along the coast. Watergate Bay is around a 15-minute walk away and is dog friendly all year round.

Porth Beach is just a five-minute walk from SeaSpace, so there’s no need to jump in the car every time you fancy a bit of sea air. The beach welcomes dogs outside its summer daytime restriction, while nearby Fistral and Crantock offer more opportunities to explore with your four-legged companion.

The accommodation is designed around flexibility, with studios for couples and larger studios and apartments for families and groups. The two-bedroom apartments sleep four to five, while the three-bedroom apartments sleep up to seven, with king-size beds, bunk rooms, open-plan living areas and fully equipped kitchens. Accessible studios and larger studios are also available on the ground floor.

There’s plenty to keep you occupied when you’re back at SeaSpace, too. There’s an indoor swimming pool and hot tub, fitness facilities, padel courts and outdoor spaces, alongside food and drink on site. It’s the sort of place where a day can be as active or as lazy as you like — head out for a coastal walk, spend the afternoon by the pool, then settle in for something good to eat.

Newquay is close by when you fancy exploring further, while Porth itself has a more laid-back feel and its beach, cafés and local spots are all within easy reach. SeaSpace’s own neighbourhood guide highlights the surrounding coastline, local food and drink and places such as Fistral and Lusty Glaze.
